"Don't let your body or your mind become bored with your exercise routine."

Seven Hills

offers
Dynamic
Yoga and
Pilates.
The human body adapts to the same workout after 6-8 weeks. Physical benefits decrease just as quickly. One routine or set series of exercises isn't enough to continuously challenge and reshape the body. Our classes offer a variety of exercises to keep your practice fresh and alive with a dynamic approach to Yoga and Pilates. Our classes are designed to meet the needs of wide a variety of students from beginners through advanced, for all age groups and abilities.

Hatha Yoga has evolved over six thousand years and is taught in a variety of styles. The Seven Hills Yoga Program is based on a combination of Vinyasa and Anusara Yoga.

Vinyasa is a flowing style of yoga practice that warms the body as it stretches and strengthens the muscles, moving from one posture to the next. This approach translates into ease and strength in everyday movements. Vinyasa yoga is derived from Ashtanga, an extremely challenging set series of poses. Americans loved the high energy of Ashtanga but wanted more flexibility in duration and content of classes, so "Vinyasa" or Flowing Yoga was born.

Anusara Yoga was created by John Friend, who studied the principles of biomechanics and applied them to yoga. The result is an amazingly easy-to-grasp approach to yoga postures based on "loops" and "spirals" - the natural building blocks of the body. Anusara Yoga guides the body into alignment to create ease and strength in its movements. In Sanskrit "Anusara" means being in "the flow of grace."

Pilates is a comprehensive system of body conditioning developed by Joseph Pilates. In the 1920's he opened his Studio in New York City to keep athletes and dancers at their peak of performance (and to rehabilitate their injuries!). The wisdom and benefits of his system have been proven over the years. The goal of Pilates is to use mental focus to build strength, flexibility and endurance without risking injury or building bulk in the muscles. Emphasis is on core stability to maintain the natural curves and strength of the spine in a series of fully integrated movements using the whole body. The results are a balanced, aligned body that looks fit, feels revitalized and moves with ease.
