Seven Hills Yoga & Pilates offers a range of classes for all ages and abilities.
Basic Anusara Yoga takes you step-by-step through the basic principles of yoga including breathing techniques, basic postures and guided relaxation. Beginners are welcome. You will develop flexibility, strength, balance and endurance.
Gentle Yoga gives you a full body workout with gentle stretching and toning of the muscles using simple yoga poses and ending with a guided visualization. This is ideal for less active individuals, those with health concerns or injuries and for seniors. Basic yoga poses are modified to accommodate individual needs. The class increases flexibility and strength. Resistance bands are used to increase upper body strength, coordination and improve balance.
Anusara Yoga All Levels is an energetic workout of flowing yoga, using a variety of poses for full body toning and stretching, ending with guided relaxation. Good for active beginners as well as experienced students who want to deepen and extend their yoga practice. Emphasis is placed on Core Conditioning and Dynamic Fitness.
Pilates Mat Class is designed to increase flexibility, improve integration of muscular function, and develop greater core strength and stamina. The class uses the Fundamentals of Joseph Pilates' Philosophy of Body Conditioning as they are applied to the mat exercises. This class is appropriate for all levels - beginner through advanced - with attention to therapeutic variations
for neck, shoulder, back or hip and leg problems.
Yoga & Pilates Mix combines the best of Yoga and Pilates, emphasizing core strength principles. Good for beginners and experienced students alike. Emphasis is on integrating strength with balance, coordination and flexibility. This style of training enhances performance in specific sports and helps prevent injuries.
Cardiac Yoga Therapy is a medically approved course designed for the specific needs of people recovering from cardiac surgery and heart disease, as well as other chronic conditions, like diabetes or obesity that require special care. Individual or group sessions are available.
Prenatal Yoga provides safe, appropriate exercise for this unique time in a woman's life, while supporting the well being and growth of the baby. Breathing techniques increase relaxation and calm during labor and delivery. Medically approved and sponsored.
Power Yoga for Young Athletes is a class designed to increase coordination, speed, agility and stamina. Breathing techniques improve use of oxygen and postures strengthen joints to prevent injury in athletic events.
Relaxation & Meditation give your body and mind a chance to renew and refresh with guided instruction on relaxation and meditation techniques. Individual or group sessions available.
One-on-One Yoga and Pilates Sessions. Arrange for your own private session at your convenience. Programs are designed after individual assessments are made.
All sessions are followed by a guided relaxation to restore balance to the body and the mind.
How to Prepare for Class
Wear comfortable non-baggy clothing so you can move easily. T-shirts, shorts, tights, etc. This permits visibility of the spine and limbs for proper alignment. (Space for changing clothes is available.)
Expect to be barefooted during the class.
Avoid eating a heavy meal right before class a light snack is okay.
If you have any physical problems or medical conditions, be sure to let your teacher know before class so that she/he can modify your exercises accordingly.
